First Meeting – Planning
Our proffesional shed builders received a call from an elderly gentleman, requesting an inspection of one of the multiple sheds in his garden. Initially, the plan was to re-felt the roof, but the customer insisted on a new shed due to the current old condition. We advised against this, considering the cost and the fact that he already had two other sheds on his property.
Shed Builders – Removing the Old
After discussing and finalizing plans with the client, the shed builders began the process of deconstructing the old shed. We carefully handled all items and relocated them to one of the other sheds for protection. During this process, we came across the old house name sign. Which we pleasantly surprised the customer by attaching to the newly completed shed. (Please insert image of the shed with the sign)
Building the New Shed – Construction
Considering the client’s age, we decided to position the new shed on the first level of his garden. To achieve this, we constructed a flat foundation using the base of the old shed. This is because it was still in good condition and saved the customer money. We then placed several stilts, approximately 4 feet in height, to eliminate the need for the customer to navigate steep garden steps.
The new shed was meticulously built by hand, following the customer’s specifications, using timber sourced from a Sheffield-based business. After a few weeks of dedicated work, the new shed was completed, and the stilts were discreetly hidden behind a handcrafted wooden panel, maintaining a cohesive appearance.
